Uma das maiores preocupações dos pais quando é necessário efetuar algum exame radiológico é submeter as crianças a radiação e as consequências que  pode ter no futuro.⁠
Os equipamentos radiológicos são meios de diagnóstico atuais que permitem diagnosticar problemas de saúde orais nas estruturas dentárias não detectados visualmente no exame clínico inicial.  ⁠
No IAD contamos com equipamentos tecnológicos de última geração que através das suas características, diminuem a emissão de radiação (localizada apenas a zona a tratar ), tornando-se mais seguro do que as tradicionais películas de revelação. ⁠
Na IADKids só realizamos este tipo de exames quando é estritamente necessário sempre acompanhado dos EPI´S de protecção recomendados (mesmo sendo a dose de radiação ínfima).⁠

One of the biggest concerns parents have when an xray is needed is exposing children to radiation and the consequences it may have in the future.⁠

Radiation equipment makes it possible to diagnose oral health problems in dental structures that are not visually detected. But at IAD Lisbon we have high quality technological equipment that, through its characteristics, emit less radiation (allowing  localized only), making it safer for the patient than traditional x-rays. At IADKids we only perform this type of exam when it is strictly necessary with the use of recommended PPE for patient protection (even if the radiation dose is low).⁠

The quality of the images obtained in these exams is getting better, since the equipment is developed based on some characteristics that allow the clinician not only to capture a good image, but also to work using digital tools in order to obtain better results and image settings.
